About the Faculty

WATS is blessed with vast array of well prepared and outstanding faculty who are both resident and adjunct. They are thoroughly equipped in specific and broad areas of Christian theology and many related disciplines. Olufemi Emmanuel

Olufemi Emmanuel is an evangelical theologian. He bagged his Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from the prestigious West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS), Lagos in 2005 and his Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies from the same institution in 2009. Udo Ijeoma Okugbe is the current Head of Religious Studies Department, West Africa Theological Seminary, Ipaja- Lagos; a graduate of the University of Calabar, Nigeria (B. A. Hons, Philosophy) with courses in Philosophy and Religion. Dr. Pius Usenu

Dr. Pius Usenu

Lecturer

Usenu, Pius holds BA Theology (1993), MA in Pastoral Ministry (2001) and Doctor of Ministry Degree in Transformation Leadership (2017) from WATS.  Since 2001, he has been teaching in WATS, and his pastoral calling of four decades is an added advantage to his work as a lecturer of ministry related courses.  He teaches courses in Practical/Pastoral Ministry.  His area of research interest is on ‘Effective Discipleship as an Approach to Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation in the Church’.  He served as the Director of the Spiritual Formation Division and as HOD in Pastoral Theology.  As a minister of God, he was ordained in 2008 in the Gospel Faith Mission International.  He is an adjunct faculty member of Reuben George Theological Seminary, Ibadan.

Rev. Okugbe Kingsley George, FSS; is currently a full-time Lecturer and the Coordinator of Students’ Affairs (COSA) at the West Africa Theological Seminary, Lagos. He retired voluntarily from active services of the Nigerian Air Force after almost two decades of meritorious service that earned him the National Service Award – Forces Service Star (FSS) and is a Priest under the auspices of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
