Appointment of Dr. Tosin Awolalu as Acting Provost of WATS

This is to inform the general public that following the sudden demise of our Provost, Oluwafemi O. Martins, on 28^th May 2022, the Governing Council at its meeting of June 1, 2022 appointed Dr Tosin Awolalu, Director of Administration to act as Provost until further notice. By this appointment, Dr Awolalu will oversee the affairs of the seminary in addition to discharging his responsibility as Director of Administration.

A graduate of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, he holds the following degrees: B.A., M.A. (English), M.C.A. (Communication Arts), PGD (Theology) and PhD (Communication and Language Arts: Publishing) A first generation Nigerian indigenous book publisher, he has blended a successful publishing career with university level teaching, training and research and local and international consultancy experience in the field of multimedia provision and textbooks publishing in African Education, and has over four decades of professional experience in university teaching, educational publishing and instructional resources development.

Deeply passionate about issues of ethical governance and underdevelopment of Lesser Developed countries of Africa and Asia, Dr Awolalu is an Alumnus of the Haggai Institute for Advanced Leadership Training, Singapore, Fellow, Institute of Entrepreneurs of Nigeria and a bi-vocational senior pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God. As Acting Provost of the institution since June and charged with the first line responsibility of fundraising and academic management, Dr Awolalu has been steering the wheels of the seminary in the right direction and we covet your prayers for him and implore that you lend him all your support.
