West Africa Theological Seminary (WATS) has been providing quality theological education in Nigeria and West Africa since 1989. Over the past thirty years, we have graduated well over 2,000 students, from a wide spectrum of literally hundreds of African churches, scores of ethnic groups, and more than twenty nationalities. Today the future of WATS remains very bright. We are more committed than ever to provide world-class leadership education that focuses on academic excellence, spiritual and leadership formation, and context-relevant instruction.

This website contains information about our undergraduate programs in theology and religion, our Master’s programs and the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) in Transformational Leadership. Our Master’s programs include the Master of Divinity (MDiv), Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS), Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAIS), Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE), and the Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (MACL, for episcopal-level leadership only).
